Fresh Questions in March
By March 2026, the issue had taken on a new dimension.

On 20 March, reports indicated that Nigel Farage had paused his activity on Cameo following media scrutiny over personalised videos recorded through the platform.
The controversy centred on allegations that one of the videos had been made for an individual linked to a convicted rioter, while another was reportedly connected to an extremist-themed event.
According to the reports, Farage had earned more than £80,000 from Cameo while serving as an MP.
Farage responded by saying that:
- the pause was linked to security concerns
- he had not been aware of the full context behind the requests
Then, on 24 March, further reports suggested that Farage had become the highest-earning MP from outside interests.
It was claimed that he had earned around £43,000 in a single month from Cameo alone.
That intensified debate around several issues:
- the balance between parliamentary responsibilities and private earnings
- the risks of monetising political fame
- whether current reporting rules are strong enough
For some observers, the growing list of headlines no longer looked like isolated incidents, but part of a wider and more politically damaging pattern.
